Add a TXT record at Microsoft 365 (domains bought through it)

Where: Microsoft 365 admin center → Settings → Domains → your domain → DNS records

Steps

  1. Click Add record.
  2. Type: TXT.
  3. TXT name: _dmarc. For SPF use @.
  4. TXT value: paste the record.
  5. Save.

Watch for

  • This only applies if Microsoft hosts the domain’s DNS. If your DNS is at a registrar, add the record there.

Screens change from time to time; if yours differs, Microsoft 365 (domains bought through it)’s own help is the authority. When the record is in, check it with the DMARC checker; DNS changes can take a few minutes to appear.
